A landslide coupled with falling trees have temporarily cut road access in some villages of Kombi district of Minahasa, North Sulawesi, on Friday.

“Fortunately, we cleaned some sites, which means no more residents are isolated,” Minahasa administration's spokesperson Vecky Tanor said in Manado as quoted by kompas.com.

Some points of the traffic connecting Kombi with East Lembean district has returned to normalcy since Thursday after the Public Works Agency deployed heavy equipment to clean the area.

Vecky said that his office had informed the residents to be aware about such a natural phenomenon.

Kombi Donald Warow, a prominent figure at the district, said the residents had gone about their activities as usual despite heavy rainfall and strong winds striking the areas. (ewd)
