An earthquake measuring 5.3 on the Richter scale shook Waingapu, East Nusa Tenggara on Saturday morning. There was no report of damages or injuries.
The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency reported on its website that the quake hit at 07:04 a.m., with its epicenter located at 188 kilometer southwest of Waingapu at 25 kilometers beneath the surface.
Earlier this year, a tectonic earthquake measuring 6.0 on the Richter scale shook Kupang, the capital of the province. No casualties had been reported in the incident.
