JAKARTA: Fourteen students from State High School No. 13, North Jakarta, handed over a 100-meter banner signed by students during their visit to the Corruption Eradication Commision (KPK) office in Kuningan on Thursday.

School spokeswoman Retno Listyarti said the banner was a symbol of solidarity for the commission's current battle against corruption.

The banner was signed earlier this month during a school event that featured a contest to compose songs about democracy and a declaration against corruption.

Retno said the students did not pick sides in the recent KPK case involving law enforcement institutions, but that they gave the banner because the KPK was an icon of the fight against corruption.

After hanging the banner in the lobby, the students were taken on a tour of the office.

"They asked whether Bibit and Chandra *the suspended KPK deputies* would retain their positions following the President's speech *that the case against them not go to court*," she said. -JP
