SMS: Copenhagen Summit

A- A A+

Your comments on the organization of the climate change summit in Copenhagen, next week, which is expected to be attended by dozens of world leaders in trying to formulate an agreement to cut CO2 emission.

Personally, I'm optimistic that a deal be will reached. But it will be a defective one as the US is unlikely to ratify it.

The issue has developed in so many ways that it even triggered the Hollywood hotshots to release 2012.

As far as humans are concerned, fossil fuel will be gone by 2020 or at the latest 2030 and renewable fuels will be regarded as its closest replacement.

Many believe that CO2 emissions will gradually sicken Mother Earth and create major destruction. In response to that, I call upon all governments to regulate the use of renewable energy.

Indeed, Indonesia is a country of a great source of bio-fuel, let's inspire others and become the loudest supporter of the green energy campaign.

We, as people, can not expect a significant solution to the climate crisis if we do not do anything. The climate issue is too important to be left in the hands of politicians.

New Internet technology can help our voices be heard more effectively. Millions of people around the world are fighting for climate justice as you read this note. Let's join the fight now before it's too late.

I'm not very optimistic about the upcoming summit because so many of these kinds of discussions have been done so far but they are not fruitful. If this meeting has to be successful then basically industries from all countries should create awareness and spread education about the hazardous effects of CO2 emissions.

For this, governments should provide attractive schemes like those units who emit least carbon will get a particular percentage of tax deductions. If the government doesn't offer these kinds of incentive schemes then it will be difficult to cope with this problem.

Still I'm a bit hopeful about this summit.
