The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has asked for help from the Financial Transactions Report and Analysis Center (PPATK) to track the distribution of the Bank Century bailout funds.
“I have sent a letter to PPATK to ask for data on the Bank Century case,” KPK interim chairman Tumpak Hatorangan Panggabean told a conference here Wednesday.
He said the KPK would not rely solely on the results of an investigative audit from the State Audit Agency (BPK) as the audit did not say anything about to where the money went.
Tumpak said that considering the many people involved and the many violations committed in the Bank Century scandal, the KPK would only focus on criminal acts related to power abuse that benefited certain people and caused state losses.
When asked if the KPK had already found indications of the offenses, Tumpak said “our investigation is looking in that direction”.
