City announces finalists of tourism award

JAKARTA: The Jakarta's Culture and Tourism Agency will announce the finalists of the 11th Adikarya Wisata award next Monday.

Dubbed as the most prestigious award given by the governor to enterprises that contribute to the tourism industry, the award is expected to improve the level of service at the industry.

"Adikarya Wisata motivates people working in the *tourism* industry as it becomes their highest pride. Those who win the award must provide a very good service," head of the agency Arie Budiman said Thursday.

The award will be competed by 758 enterprises from 18 categories, including hotels, restaurants, night clubs, tour and travel agencies, spas and airlines.

Arie said after the announcement, the committee members, cooperating with SWA magazine, would select the nominees by conducting customer satisfaction surveys and visiting them as mystery guests from January to July 2010.

The award winners will be announced during the city anniversary in July next year. -JP
