Letter: KPK victory

A- A A+

Congratulations to Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) deputy chairmen Bibit Samad Rianto and Chandra M. Hamzah. The KPK has won in the end. The truth will always prevail. The pen is indeed mightier than the sword. These two individuals now need to work twice as hard to catch corrupt officials and put them behind bars.

They have to show the public that they are indeed clean and not involved in any bribery. They need to show the public that they will never let big-time criminals go free. It is now time to solve the Bank Century case!

The public will watch every move that the KPK makes. At the first sign of dishonesty, Bibit and Chandra will be crucified. On the other hand, the police will have to clean house should they wish to be regarded as a reliable force within the country.

The case of Bibit and Chandra has shown the public that the police are unreliable and capable of putting innocent people behind bars. Should they wish to recapture the public trust, they should now work very hard and improve their performance by genuinely serving the public's interests and not their own!

The House of Representatives also needs to improve its performance. Legislators supported the police despite knowing Bibit and Chandra had been framed for a crime they did not commit. This has not endeared them to the public. They forget that they are sitting in the House as representatives of the public, and not of the authorities.

The case has served as an excellent example that crime can be fabricated by the authorities. From now on, the police and Attorney General's Office (AGO) need to be alert because the public is watching every move they make.

Credit should be given to the press as they blew open the Bibit and Chandra case by informing the public on a daily basis how the police and AGO collaborated to fabricate lies by putting two innocent people behind bars.
