Mayor's son to stand trial for drug abuse

BALIKPAPAN: Prosecutors here said Wednesday the son of the city mayor, Dimyatie Reza, would soon stand trial for alleged drug abuse, which carries a maximum penalty of five years in prison.
Yohanes Priyadi, head of the general crime division at the Balikpapan Prosecutor's Office in East Kalimantan, told tempointeraktif.com his office had handed over Dimyatie's dossier to the district court.
Dimyatie, the son of Mayor Imdaad Hamid, was arrested early in October with two other men, caught taking crystal methamphetamine by police officers in the Stal Kuda area. - JP
