A forensic expert testifying in a murder
trial involving former antigraft leader Antasari Azhar said Thursday the police
had asked him to manipulate the autopsy of murder victim Nasruddin Zulkarnaen.
Abdul Mun'I'm Idris, a forensic specialist
from Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital (RSCM) who conducted an autopsy on Nasruddin,
said he had found two 9-milllimeter bullet bullets on Nasruddin's head from a
0.38-caliber firearm.
Not long after he submitted the autopsy
report to the police, Abdul said he had received two calls from an officer from
City Police's forensic laboratory center and its detective deputy chief.
”The first caller said my analysis was 'too
brave', while the second caller asked me to erase the information saying that
the material was fragments of 9-millimeter bullets," he said.
"But I refused, because it's my duty to
document the truth."
Abdul, however, did not speculate on the
purpose of the police in giving him this order.
Antasari, former Corruption Eradication
Commission (KPK) chief, is currently on trial for allegedly plotting the murder
of Nasruddin, a director of state pharmaceutical company PT Putra Rajawali
Banjaran.
Nasruddin was killed in a drive-by shooting
on March 14 near Modernland golf course in Tangerang, Banten.
Abdul examined Nasruddin's body in RSCM the
day after the victim’s death.
Responding to Abdul's testimony, M.
Assegaf, one of Antasari lawyers, said the police request to manipulate Abdul's
autopsy, if true, might be an indication that the Antasari case was manipulated.
In their indictment, the prosecutors said
Nasruddin had caught Antasari red-handed in a fragrante delicto with Rhani
Juliani. Nasruddin then used the Grand Mahakam Hotel incident as a weapon to
blackmail Antasari.
This was believed to trigger Antasari to
have Nasruddin killed with support from Sigid, who allegedly provided the
financial back up, and former South Jakarta Police Sr. Comr. Williardi Wizar, who
allegedly recruited the hit men.
