Riau minimum wage decreed

PEKANBARU: Riau Governor Rusli Zainal has issued a decree setting the minimum wage in municipalities and regencies in the province starting on Jan. 1, next year.
Riau Manpower, Transmigration and Population Agency head Akmal JS revealed the provincial minimum wage will increase by 12 percent to Rp 1.016 million (about US$100) per month from the current Rp 925,000.
"Minimum wages in municipalities and regencies should refer to the provincial minimum wage," Akmal told The Jakarta Post on Friday.
Based on the decree, the minimum wage in Kampar regency would be the highest in the province reaching Rp 1.2 million per month. - JP
