Five prosecutors dismissed for power misuse

JAKARTA: The Attorney General's Office has dismissed five state prosecutors for misusing their authority this year.

Junior Attorney General for Supervision Hamzah Tadja said Sunday that his office had imposed heavy fines, such as demoting officials, to 30 prosecutors for violating regulations.

Tempointeraktif.com reported that one of the prosecutors dismissed from his job was Totom, who was involved in an extortion case with an official at the National Land Agency (BPN).
