Fire razes slum area in Penjaringan

A fire on Wednesday razed around 30 illegal houses belonging to around 200 people in a slum area of Penjaringan, North Jakarta.
Kompas.com has reported the fire broke out at 9 a.m. and was extinguished one hour later by 16 fire trucks.
Penjaringan village head Alimudasir said a similar accident had occurred in the area a few months ago.
There were no immediate reports on material losses or injuries. The Penjaringan Police are investigating the cause of the fire. (ewd)
