TANGERANG: Hundreds of patients, paramedics and visitors at the Tangerang General Public Hospital panicked and rushed out when fire razed through the hospital hall Wednesday afternoon.
The fire broke out at 2:30 p.m. and was put out by 10 fire engines belonging to Tangerang Municipality Fire Department.
Fanti, nurse, said the hospital was under renovation.
She said a construction worker saw the fire begin under a thunder resistance device at the building.
The worker attempted to put out the fire using a fire extinguisher but realized it was oxygen gas.
"After he sprayed the oxygen gas, the fire grew," she said, adding that no victims were reported at the incident. - JP
