JAKARTA: Sophan Sophiaan had already left the silver screen for several years, before passing away more than a year ago.
But, Wednesday's night Indonesian Film Festival still recognized the actor's contribution by honoring him with the Lifetime Achievement Award.
"This made me sad. This made me miss him more. Even when he's gone, he is still receiving awards," his wife Widyawati said, as quoted by news portal detikhot.com on Thursday.
That night was a bittersweet moment for the seasoned actress as images of Sophan flashed before the stage on the night of the award. Her husband passed away in a motorcycle accident while touring with his biker friends in May 2008.
Sophan and Widyawati had been known as the darlings of the silver screen industry since their duet in 1971.
"Actually, I don't really need this award to remind me of him. He's always by my side." - JP
