SERANG: National flag carrier PT Garuda Indonesia asked the Banten provincial administration to provide staff for the state enterprise's plan to expand the fleet to 114 by 2013.

Boedi Soeharto from Garuda's Business Support, said the company would need flight attendants.

"We will have to recruit as many as 1,000 people as flight attendants and therefore we hope that the Banten administration can help us," he said after a meeting with Banten Governor Ratu Atut Chosiyah in Serang on Thursday.

In response to the request, Ratu Atut said she was very pleased and willing to assist, hoping that Banten's human resources can meet the criteria to fill the vacancy. - JP
