Ministry adds more buses in remote areas

The Transportation Ministry has added 78 new buses to provide more access for people living in remote areas across the archipelago.

Transportation Minister Freddy Numberi officially handed the new buses to state-owned bus operator company Damri during a ceremony in Adisutjipto Airport in Yogyakarta on Saturday.

The ministry has provided a total of 340 buses in the past six years to serve 128 new routes in 21 provinces.

“These buses are important to connect remote areas and to support for more economic activities,” Freddy said during the ceremony as quoted by kompas.com.
