JAKARTA: The Jakarta administration plans to closely monitor New Year's Eve celebrations by imposing a curfew on entertainment centers
AKARTA: The Jakarta administration plans to closely monitor New Year's Eve celebrations by imposing a curfew on entertainment centers.
City secretary Muhayat said the centers would close at 3 a.m.
"Any violation of this curfew will be punished in accordance with existing rules," he said as quoted by detik.com.
A gubernatorial decree on opening hours for entertainment centers stipulates businesses that extend their hours will have their licenses revoked temporarily.
Meanwhile, the city police will deploy 7,300 personnel for New Year's Eve.
Police will be focused mainly in Ancol in North Jakarta, and the Indonesia Miniature Park (TMII) in East Jakarta, where the administration will concentrate most of the night's celebrations.
