Ministry adds more buses to remote areas

JAKARTA: The Transportation Ministry has added 78 new buses to provide more access to people living in remote areas across the archipelago.
Transportation Minister Freddy Numberi handed the new buses to state-owned bus operator company Damri at a ceremony in Adisutjipto Airport in Yogyakarta on Saturday.
The ministry has provided a total of 340 buses in the past six years to serve 128 new routes in 21 provinces.
"The buses are needed to connect remote areas and to support economic activity," Freddy told news portal kompas.com. - JP
