our comments on the ongoing parliamentary inquiry, which is likely to target Vice President Boediono and Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati for their decision to bail out Century Bank.

I'm sure Mulyani is not guilty. She is Mrs. Clean who has cleaned up the bureaucracy of the finance department and the Customs and Excise Office. We still need her.

Sri Mulyani is a person that Indonesians can be proud of and one everybody can look up to. She has integrity, is honest, and most importantly capable of doing her work. She works solely for the good of the country, unlike many other politicians who just seeks private wealth and do nothing for the country.

It is because of her that Indonesia can come out of the global crisis stronger. She has been voted the best finance minister in Asia and the world. Economist Faisal Basri said, "There would be no benefit for the country if Mulyani was fired." It would be suicide for the nation if she steps down. Open your eyes!

While Indonesia needs the brains, integrity and dedication of those leaders who have NO other interest other than the good of their country, there are attempts to discredit them, launched by people with many vested interests.

These days, Indonesia, especially Jakarta, is witnessing a number of social and political situations that are being staged by those who call themselves the elite. For Cabinet member Sri, House member Bambang, and others who are involved in legal cases, it is time to show that you are indeed strong. Do not whine. Do not cry. Do not explode. Take it easy and play your role appropriately. I love watching the play!

The Bank Century case has transformed into a personal vendetta pitting Sri Mulyani against Aburizal Bakrie, who is using his chairmanship of Golkar and his experience at political maneuvering as a tool to oust the finance minister from her post. The public openly sides with Sri Mulyani.

She is indeed fighting for a better Indonesia and for the prosperity of the people. Golkar is not popular after 32 years of Soeharto rule. The memory is still painful. That is one of the reasons why Golkar accumulated so few votes during the last presidential campaign.

Bakrie's political maneuvering, by using his political party to oust Sri Mulyani, is making matters worse. Instead of improving the tarnished image of Golkar, he is pushing it deeper into a badly contaminated morass.

Golkar is being very childish; they should genuinely take steps to improve their tarnished political and popular image. Instead, it is now going downhill at neck-breaking speed.

Wake up Golkar Party members, it is not too late to make amends. The public, supported by the press, is not ignorant anymore nor is it easy to manipulate them.

I do agree with all efforts to prove the wrongdoings done by whomever. Those involved deserve to be punished, as the money belongs to the citizen of Indonesia and it's such a large amount of money.

But I don't have even the slightest respect for the House inquiry committee, as they just talk too much and appear on TV like celebrities. Stop talking and do your job tracking our Rp 5 billion.
