JAMBI: Prosecutors in Jambi said Tuesday they were gathering more evidence to continue investigations into several graft cases in the province.
“It’s not easy to reopen past cases; the investigations need more information to continue,” said Jambi Prosecutors’ Office intelligence head Andi M. Iqbal Arief.
Among the past corruption cases, he added, were the direct appointment of companies to renovate the governor’s office, the embezzlement of Rp 13 billion to develop a communications network in East Tanjung jabung regency, and the misappropriation of funds in the purchase of a boat by the West
Tanjung jabung administration.
Iqbal said his office was studying which of the graft case could be investigated immediately, as some were being handled by police.
