JAKARTA: The city administration gave Rp 10 million (US$1,000) to families of workers, who died while cleaning the Kalibaru water tunnel in Jatinegara, East Jakarta, on Tuesday.

Four East Jakarta Public Works Agency employees died Tuesday reportedly from toxic gas consumed while cleaning garbage out of the Kalibaru tunnel. The workers, Agung, Ridwan, Alif and Andi ran out of oxygen after being pushed by a strong current.
