JAKARTA: Khoe Seng Seng (Aseng), the business owner who was sued by PT Duta Pertiwi, a property company, for writing a complaint letter to a newspaper stating his dissatisfaction with the company, discovered Wednesday that a Jakarta court had already decided on his suspended sentence.
Aseng said that he heard the news from one of the clerks at the court. “The clerk said the court strengthened the sentence given by the East Jakarta District Court,” he said, as quoted by vivanews.com.
The district court previously gave him a six-month suspended sentence with a probation period of one year, which means that he will not be imprisoned unless he commits another crime within a year, on the grounds of conducting libel against the company.
