AKARTA: President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono inaugurated 1,092 military and police cadets as officers on Wednesday morning in a full military ceremony at the Eastern Fleet Command Base in Surabaya, East Java.
Yudhoyono, as the Commander-In-Chief of the Indonesian Military, took on the task of inducting all the new officers himself. The Army College inaugurated 275 cadets, the Navy 195, the Air Force 123 and the police another 499.
The President will witness the five best graduates from each of the four academies receiving Adhi Makayasa medals.
Yudhoyono flew back to Jakarta that afternoon.
