Your comments on the recent attack against a church in Bekasi, West Java, days before Christians celebrate Christmas.

Where are all the religious organizations in the country to speak out against this religious intolerance?

Better yet, where is the government on this issue?

It has been almost a week since this sad tragedy happened. But, oddly enough, religious organizations simply jump on the bandwagon when minarets were banned in Switzerland.

I deplore such acts and it is even worse when authorities do not speak out against it. What goes around comes around. Karma will bite back at these delusional people, may it be on their lives, family, work or even health … Karma, regardless of religion, is a cycle of nature and life that cannot be denied.

Regardless of being right or wrong, why does The Jakarta Post report on churches getting damaged in Muslim-majority areas of Indonesia, but never reports mosques getting damaged in the Christian-majority areas of Indonesia?

Construction of mosques can be very difficult in the Christian-majority areas of Indonesia, and many are damaged despite having legal construction permits. Maybe the Post doesn’t get the reports. Or, maybe it  does not report it intentionally. Be fair to all, the Post.

I was so sad to hear about it. When the world is shocked by minaret bans in Switzerland, our government and ulema speak out loudly to protest. But when something happens with another religion, where are they?

“Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of Me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

And one more thing, blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God. Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.”

Haven’t you learned anything from our Prophet, Muhammad. He protected all non-Muslim citizens without exception.

As long as some people still feel that they are better and holier than others, religious tolerance is only a dream. Can’t we just take care of our own matters?

Think and do something to develop ourselves to make us better people who can contribute to society?

Stop being destructive. It will only show the world that you are jealous and desperately weak.
