Tora ties the knot away from spotlight

JAKARTA: Without too much publicity, comedian Tora Sudiro married actress Mieke Amalia, not long after news of his divorce and rumors of the new relationship started spreading.

“We didn’t want to make a big deal out of it this time. It’s just between us,” Tora said, as quoted by entertainment news portal kapanlagi.com this week. Tora added that the wedding took place last Saturday morning in Jakarta.

“But, based on our experience, we announced it through Twitter afterward so that everyone would know. We’ve also pinged some of our friends through BB [BlackBerry],” said the 36-year-old.

Mieke was also in the news last week for another reason, as she reportedly replied to the controversial message posted by Luna Maya about infotainment journalists.

This quiet wedding marks Tora’s second marriage, after his divorce from Anggraini Kardiman earlier this year. Tora and Mieke both played in Trans TV’s weekly comedy sketch Extravaganza.
