Vice President Boediono is scheduled to attend the fifth-year commemoration of the devastating Indian Ocean tsunami in Aceh tomorrow.

Tempointeraktif.com reported that several ministers would also accompany the vice president to take part in series of events centered in Ulee Lheu, Banda Aceh.

Iskandar, head of the provincial reconstruction balance agency, said the vice president plans to to visit other sites in Aceh besides attending the solemn occasion.

“The vice president will visit the tsunami museum and meet with local figures at the gubernatorial office over recent development at the area,” Iskandar said.

A 9.1-magnitude undersea earthquake hit the province on Dec. 26, 2004. At least 200,000 people across the Indian Ocean region were killed during the disaster. (ewd)
