The health condition of former Indonesian president Abdurrahman Wahid, commonly known as Gus Dur, was getting better after completing blood routine check up at Cipto Mangunkusumo hospital, Central Jakarta on Friday.

Gus Dur's wife Sinta Nuriyah Abdurrahman Wahid said her husband was staying in hospital until he fully recovers.

“After undergoing some examinations, his glucose and blood pressure have returned to normalcy. He can speak smoothly now,” Sinta told kompas.com.

She added that his husband complained of a toothache during the examinations.

“The doctors checked his teeth. But they have not yet taken out any teeth,” she said.

The former president has suffered toothaches for the last two weeks. Doctors expect to extract the teeth within two or three days. (ewd)
