The Denpasar Police said Sunday they had questioned 12 witnesses in the murder of 41-year-old Japanese woman identified as Hiromi Shimada in Kuta, Bali.
"We question them to dig more information. We assume that the victim and the murderer knew one another," Denpasar Police Chief Sr. Comr. I Gede Alit Widana said as quoted by Kompas.com
Shimada was found dead naked late Saturday with several stab wounds in her stomach.
Meanwhile, Shimada’s friend, Hartono, said that Shimada had lived in Bali since 1997, but she had no permanent job and mostly received financial support from her family in Japan.
