Taufik: George labeled me RI 1.5 in his book

JAKARTA: People Consultative Assembly chairman Taufik Kiemas said Monday controversial author George Junus Aditjondro had labeled him as RI 1.5 in a book titled Oligarchy with Three Pillars: Palace, Barrack, and Ruling Party.

"*George* wrote that I controlled the economy when Megawati Soekarnoputri was the Indonesian president," Taufik said as quoted by kompas.com.

"However, I and my family did not respond to it because the facts were not like he claimed." George's latest book titled Membongkar Gurita Cikeas: Dibalik Skandal Bank Century (Unmasking the Cikeas Octopus: Behind Century Scandal), which disclosed President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono's four foundations and their involvement in Bank Century scandal, has sparked controversy. - JP
