Text your say: Interfaith intolerance

A- A A+

Your comments on the recent attack against a church in Bekasi, West Java, days before Christians celebrate Christmas.

Religious tolerance is merely lip-service. The government seems deaf and blind toward attacks against places of worship. Let God Himself punish those vandals.

In general we can see interfaith solidarity in Indonesia. Friction sometimes occurs among adherents of different religions such as what happened between Muslim and Christian communities, and is mostly due to misunderstanding.

For example, Christian communities build a new church in an area in which the Christian population is very small. That often makes the Muslim community in the area uneasy.

The police seem to act belatedly and no harsh measures taken. The thugs are free to do anything.

We Christians are not given equal rights. Please do something to protect us.

Religious tolerance has been replaced by anarchy and bigotry, thanks to the impotence of law enforcement.
