Two Mt. Lawu hikers dead, five others still missing

KARANGANYAR, C. Java: Two people have died and five others remain missing after a weekend hike on the slopes of Mount Lawu in Central Java.
Jumain, 23, from Demak in Central Java, and Muji Rachman, 18, from Blora in Central Java, were believed to have died following inclement weather in the area.
Search and rescue team coordinator Aji Pratama Heru said Monday his team was still looking for the missing climbers.
The six have been identified as Eko Supriyanto, Nur Achmad, Fauji, Puji, Arif and Muchlis, Antara reported.
The hikers were part of a 125-strong party from the Blora-based Condromowo Association.
The group had begun hiking on Mt. Lawu on Saturday morning in sunny weather, it was reported.
However, it began raining later in the day, and only stopped on Sunday.
