Council demands city finalize spatial plan draft

JAKARTA: Jakarta Council Speaker Ferrial Sofyan will ask the city administration to immediately submit the bylaw draft of the 2010-2030 spatial plan.
“Bappeda head [Nurfakih Wirawan] told me the draft would be submitted in December, but to date, it has not been submitted,” Ferrial told reporters Tuesday.
He said he would ask Bappeda to hand the draft soon so the council could start deliberating it early next year.
Ferrial said the late submission of the draft would affect the long-term development plan for the city.
Technically, the 2007 Provincial Spatial Plan Law stipulates that a province should have completed its spatial plans by April 2009.
