Thousands of students clash with police

GORONTALO: At least seven people were reportedly wounded when thousands of students of Gorontalo State University clashed with hundreds of policemen in front of the university in Gorontalo on Tuesday.

Four out of the seven people injured during the incident were policemen while the remaining three were students.

Antara state news agency reported that both sides were throwing stones at each other, hence causing panic for nearby residents.

There were no immediate reports on the cause of the clash. - JP
