Balikpapan launches local dictionary

BALIKPAPAN: The Forum Balikpapan gathered in a cooperation with the Balikpapan Municipality to launch a dictionary of local terms.

Balikpapan Vice Mayor Rizal Effendi welcomed the launching of the dictionary, hoping that it would become a national dictionary.

Rizal said the dictionary showed the plurality of  Balikpapan residents.

The dictionary consists of 1,000 words taken from various local languages such Banjar, Kutai, Dayak and Makassar and is used by people in Balikpapan, East Kalimantan.
