Buleleng slammed over dubious projects

DENPASAR: Buleleng regional administration was criticized over many unclear projects this year that have cost trillions of rupiahs but have provided no obvious results.

In a recent discussion attended by Buleleng-based journalists and representatives from the  administration and legislative council, participants cited the construction of an airstrip in Gerokgak district, some 30 kilometers from Singaraja, as one dubious project.

“The construction of the Gerokgak air strip has cost billions of rupiahs, but the airstrip was never properly used. It only generates Rp 30 million per year, it’s very ironic,” said journalist Gus Tu.
