JAKARTA: The City Building Supervision Agency (P2B) began removing the rubble of the collapsed part of the Metro Tanah Abang Market on Wednesday.
"Police have removed the police line. We have begun cleaning up the site," P2B head Hari Sasongko said Wednesday.
He said the cleaning process could be finished by Monday next week.
He said his agency had yet to determine the sanctions against the contractor implicated in the fatal accident, adding that his subordinates were still checking documents relevant to the building structure.
According to him, the sanction could vary in line with the extent of the violation, ranging from written admonition, a six-month suspension to permit revocation.
Four people were killed and at least nine others were injured when the third story of the market collapsed last Wednesday. - JP
