JAMBI : Heavy rain this past week have disrupted flights at Sultan Thaha Syaifuddin Airport in
Jambi city.
“Rain has delayed flight departures,” airport traffic chief Dwi Putra Jaya said Wednesday, adding flights were mostly headed for Jakarta and Batam.
Separately, Jambi Meteorology and Geophysics Agency chief Remus L. Tobing said heavy rain would continue for the next four months. “Its peak will occur in February,” Refus said.
He warned that heavy rain coupled with lightning could affect land and air transportation.
“The agency will continue to send reports to related institutions to anticipate possible accidents,” he said.
