Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P) chairwoman Megawati Soekarnoputri is scheduled to attend the funeral of former finance minister Frans Xaverius Seda on Friday afternoon.
Yohannes Temalharu, a close relative of the late family, told kompas.com that Megawati and her husband might arrive 1 p.m.
Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati is also expected to attend the funeral.
The former minister will be buried at San Diego Hills, Karawang, in West Java, tomorrow.
Frans was aged 83 when he died Thursday morning at his home in South Jakarta.
He served as plantation minister under the tenure of first president Soekarno from 1963 to 1964.
He then held post as finance minister at the beginning of the New Order administration from 1966 to 1968. He was appointed by then president Soeharto as the minister of communication and tourism from 1968 to 1973. (ewd)
