Letters: Solemn oath to save lives

This is a comment on a news report titled " Toddler dies after being denied treatment," (www.thejakartapost.com, Dec. 27).
I am sure that anybody who reads this story is appalled and disgusted by the inhuman treatment this family and the poor little girl received.
Those individuals who are responsible, and they are totally responsible, for this toddlers death, should be prosecuted for manslaughter, at the very least.
There are no other words to describe their actions other than pure evil.
What is wrong with this country, when those who have the ability to preserve life choose not to? When those who have taken a solemn oath to protect and save lives, think only of money?
I am sure that at least some of those responsible have been to their mosque or church since their crime and believe themselves to be good Muslims or Christians because they perform the required rituals: if you evil people read this, you make me sick to my stomach, you are the scum of the earth.
