Century committee to grill Mulyani, Kalla on Jan. 13

The House of Representatives’ inquiry
committee into the Bank Century bailout said Tuesday it would summon Finance
Minister Sri Mulyani and former vice president Jusuf Kalla on Jan. 13 to
testify about the Rp 6.7 trillion (US$716 million) bailout.
Mulyani is scheduled to face the
committee at 10 a.m., while Kalla will be questioned at 7 p.m. Raden Pardede,
secretary of the Financial System Stability Committee, will be grilled at 3
p.m.
On Jan. 12, the committee will also
summon Vice President Boediono, who was the Bank Indonesia governor at the time
of the bailout, kompas.com reported.
Robert Tantular, the former owner of
Century, will testify on Jan. 7.
The government bailed out Century in
November 2008 after the bank fell into serious financial straits.
