Herewith, the International Organization for Migration's (IOM) Indonesia mission would like to clarify the report titled "35 illegal immigrants arrested in one week in South Sulawesi" (the Post, Jan. 4), particularly the statement "29 others from Afghanistan, Iran, Vietnam and Pakistan who were currently being detained at International Organization for Migration *IOM* detention centers spread across nine locations in the region".
All immigration detention centers in Indonesia are operated by the Indonesian Directorate General of Immigration, not by IOM. IOM does not operate detention centers anywhere in the world.
