Local leader gets 4 years for sexually abusing minor

TANGERANG: Tangerang District Court on Thursday handed down a four years' imprisonment and Rp 60 million (US$6,480) in fines for a subdistrict chief who allegedly forced a 15-year-old girl to have sex with him.

Presiding judge Viktor Pakpahan said the judges found that Cikande subdistrict head Syarifudin, 42, was guilty of having forced the girl to have sex with him four times while her parents, who ran a food stall in Kalideres, West Jakarta, were not home. - JP
