INDONESIA: Vietnam took over the rolling chairmanship of ASEAN Committee of Permanent Representatives (CPR) from Thailand in a ceremony on Wednesday at the ASEAN Secretariat in Jakarta.

The committee was established in 2009 upon the entry into force of the ASEAN Charter and it aims to support the work of the ASEAN Community Councils and the ASEAN Sectoral Ministerial Bodies.

“I pledge to continue our close cooperation and coordination to carry out the work of the CPR in 2010,” said Vietnamese permanent representative to ASEAN Vu Dang Dung.
