JAKARTA: Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) investigators apprehended two employees of the private company PT Masaro Radiokom for questioning, after they defied summonses twice.

The investigators apprehended Masaro procurement coordinator Tri Data Dewanto and technical coordinator Sigit Prayogo at a fish pond in Ciledug, Tangerang, and took them to the KPK office in South Jakarta for questioning.

KPK spokesman Johan Budi said neither had responded to its two previous summonses nor informed investigators of reasons for their failure to attend questioning in connection with a graft case involving the company.

The graft case centers around allegations that a mark-up occurred in the procurement of radio communications equipment for the Forestry Ministry between 2006 and 2007.

The contract to supply the equipment had been awarded to Masaro. The company's director, Putra Nevo, and the head of planning and finance at the ministry, Wandjojo Siswanto, were both named suspects in the case.

Masaro owner Anggoro Widjojo is wanted for his role in the case.He was recently the focus of media and public attention surrounding the controversy for having provided funds to bribe KPK leaders. - JP
