Anggodo Widjojo, brother of graft suspect Anggoro Widjojo, has requested a postponement of his questioning by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), citing mental and physical problems, one of his lawyers said Tuesday.
Lawyer Thomson Situmeang told reporters that Anggodo was still in shock after the commotion after his last questioning session on Monday.
On Monday, a group of men wearing college jackets threw eggs at Anggodo's car as he was leaving KPK headquarters. One of the men climbed on top of the car and started jumping on it.
Thomson said that Anggodo was also suffering from swollen feet.
“We want [the KPK] not to question him today or tomorrow,” he said as quoted by Antara state news agency.
Anggodo underwent a 13-hour investigation until late on Monday night.
Many questions were asked regarding his wiretapped conversation with law enforcers and case brokers about an attempt to have the leaders of the KPK halt their investigation into the graft case concerning communication company PT Masaro Radiokom, belonging to Anggoro.
The wiretapped recording, played at the Constitutional Court hearing on Nov. 13, 2009, revealed an attempt by Anggodo to bribe KPK leaders to stop the investigation into the PT Masaro Radiokom graft case.
Following the broadcast of the recording, Anggodo confessed to the media that he had handed over Rp 5.1 billion (US$550,00) from Anggoro to the KPK leaders, through case broker Ary Muladi, to have the inquiry into the Masaro case stopped.
Further investigation into Bibit and Chandra was halted after a presidential fact-finding team found the graft charges against the two were fabricated.
