Kalla meets with SBY amid Century fallout

A- A A+

Former vice president Jusuf Kalla has met with President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono in his capacity as the new chairman of the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI).

Kalla said Wednesday he had introduced to the President the PMI board members as well as PMI programs for the next five years.

When asked if Yudhoyono had asked him to stop talking to the public about the Bank Century case, Kalla said, "The President isn’t like that."

The former VP also denied he had brought along evidence in the Century case to the meeting.

“Nope, I have nothing like that with me,” Kalla said as quoted by kompas.com.

“The evidence is with the BPK [Supreme Audit Agency].”
