Police to settle Susno issue internally

National Police chief Gen. Bambang Hendarso Danuri said Wednesday the police would “settle internally” the issue over high-ranking officer Comr. Gen. Susno Duadji's testimony in the trial of Antasari Azhar, the former chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).

“Susno's problem will be settled internally. Just give us a chance to resolve it. We don't have to air it in public," Bambang said at the State Palace.

Last Thursday, Susno testified in court without prior permission from the police chief. His testimony hinted at an ulterior police agenda in trying Antasari for murder.

Earlier this week, Susno showed journalists several death threats he had received by text message on his cell phone, ordering him not to talk to the press.

“Susno, if you ever again talk to the media or newspapers, you are a dead man. We know how to quickly kill you,” one message read.
