The South Jakarta Police have deployed more personnel to guard the trial of former Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) chief Antasari Azhar, who faces indictment over the high-profile murder of forner state company director Nasruddin.
Head of the South Jakarta Police Comr. Pol. Nurdi Satriaji said Tuesday that 400 personnel have been deployed to the South Jakarta Disctrict Court, up from 250 in previous sessions.
“We will continue to guard the trial until judges read their verdicts on the case,” Nurdi told journalists.
The judges are scheduled to reveal their decisions on Feb. 11.
Antasari is accused of masterminding the murder of Nasruddin, the former director of state pharmaceutical company PT Putra Rajawali Banjaran, who was killed in a drive-by shooting in Tangerang in March.
In their indictment, prosecutors accused Antasari of having ordered the murder because he was being blackmailed by Nasruddin, who had caught Antasari having an affair with the murder victim's wife, Rhani Juliani.
