JAKARTA: Justice and Human Rights Minister Patrialis Akbar said that he would not replace the Director General for Correctional Institutions, Untung Sugiyono, who has been blamed for the granting of luxurious facilities to affluent inmates at the Pondok Bambu Women's Penitentiary.

After attending a ministerial meeting here on Monday, the minister said that he had no plans to replace him because Untung had performed well.

The law commission at the House of Representatives and the antigraft watchdog have called for the replacement of Untung after it was revealed that he allowed several affluent inmates, including Artalyta Suryani and Limarita, to use their own luxurious facilities in their prison cells. - JP
