Buleleng officials accused of fraud

SINGARAJA: Buleleng Prosecutor Office has summoned four high-ranking officials at the Buleleng regional administration for their alleged involvement in fraud amounting to billions of rupiah.

The four officials were in charge of various projects including insect-prevention programs in Buleleng regency in 2009. Based on the prosecutor's office, the projects' fund was allocated from the local budget, but the projects were carried out without a proper bidding process.

"In some building, the project commenced several times a year, which was a waste of funds," a source said. - JP
